Recovering from the surgery
The incisions made during the operation should be re-bandaged every 2-3 days using dry bandages. Dissolvable sutures do not require removal. A little scar will remain, although hardly visible. Therefore, we advise avoiding sunlight for at least a year for the scar to whiten as much as possible.
Besides, after this operation, the patient is fitted with a special compression garment, which must be worn throughout the postoperative period. Any active physical activity must also be avoided for 8 weeks.
Special care
Taking a shower is allowed 4 days after the operation, while the complete healing period is expected to be around 2 months. This is also how long you should be wearing special compression garments to compress the abdomen. The final result will be visible after 4 months when the swelling completely subsides. Active and intense physical activity should be avoided for about 2 months.
