FULL FACELIFT
About Surgery. Facelift is performed under general anesthesia, although sometimes local anesthesia with sedation is used. The surgery takes 3 – 5 hours. The incisions are made around the ears, in the hairy head part, so that would be less noticeable, sometimes, when it is necessary to fix the chin area (to sew hanging muscles, remove excess fat), additional incisions are made in the lower part of the chin, in the natural wrinkle. During the surgery, the patches of skin and subcutaneous tissue are distributed. Fascia is lifted, the superficial muscle of the lower part of the chin is lifted, fats are sucked, excess skin and subcutaneous tissues are removed. If drooping brows are present, a brow lift can be performed along with a facelift. A facelift is often performed in conjunction with fat grafting to improve facial contours and to correct deeper wrinkles.
Small drainage tubes are placed beneath the skin on both sides of the neck to drain away fluids that might otherwise accumulate. When surgery is complete, you’ll be taken to a recovery area.
Post Surgery. After the surgery patients should stay at the clinic for 1 day. We will remove stitches after 7-12 day after the surgery. At around 3 rd 4 th day after the surgery, you will feel swelling. Swelling and bruising usually remain up to 3–4 weeks. We always recommend lymphatic drainage massage to achieve the best result. Head dressing will be wrapped around your head and neck to help control swelling and you will need to wear it 2-3 weeks. You can feel discomfort which will be usually minimal, however, pain medication will help to relieve the discomfort. The patient can return to work after one week. The final result of the surgery is seen after 4–6 months when swelling completely stops and surgical scars mature.
